FAIRWORK (Forecasting AI Risks and Impacts on the Workforce) is a collaborative research group that I co-lead with Daniel Schiff (Purdue University) and Zeewan Lee (National University of Singapore). As a co-leader of FAIRWORK, I mentor students across different stages of the research process and create opportunities for them to take increasing responsibility for research activities. Since 2024, FAIRWORK has involved more than 25 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students across the three universities.
Students on our team have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various stages of the research process, including codebook development and testing, data collection, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, writing, developing virtual infrastructure, and gaining leadership skills.
I also support students beyond formal advising through research and professional development workshops. These activities provide students with practical guidance on research skills, methods, and navigating academic and non-academic careers, and reflect my broader commitment to helping students develop as independent scholars and professionals.
